National Women in Construction NAWIC & Austin Roofing and Construction Teach Kids About Roofing

NAWIC is the National Association of Women in Construction.  All of the trades have less of a pool of workers these days as a lot of kids concentrate on a future in a tech or digital job.

Why not construction?  The construction industry continues to offer great pay, channels for advancement, specialized learning & the opportunity to own your own specialized construction company!  In any market people will still need shelter and safe buildings, making construction a great career that rarely rides the economic waves that other industries do.

Girls, construction is for you!!  There is a place for everyone in construction, and you don't have to swing a hammer to participate.  There are jobs in accounting, estimating, admin, management & of course in labor.  We have a roofing company in New Braunfels called Roofer Chicks.  This company has received awards and national recognition for being a women owned roofing company that hires mostly women as estimators, laborers, admins and management. I can't think of a guy that has received that kind of attention for being a male owned business.  There is room girls, come on over!

When it comes to protecting your home from water damage, roof flashing is one of the smallest yet most important parts of your roofing system. While shingles and underlayment do the heavy lifting against rain and wind, flashing is what keeps water from sneaking in through the cracks — especially around roof penetrations and edges.
